Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowday's our planet Earth is facing a lot of environmental challanges such as waste pollution, which is caused by multipal factors including one is home wastage , some people argues that not enough amount of the waste from homes is recycled. They believe governments should make some legal framework to increase the amount of recycling process. In my opinion, I totally agree with this statement, and i believe goverments should introduce the laws which are much needed for recycling process.

To begin with, one the main reasons is that recycling laws encourage people to manage their waste. because majority of don't recycle untill they need to do . For instance, lot of people become lazy they are collecting piles by piles instead of recycle they sell that stuff especially in third world countires. If governments should take strict action , implement heavy fines they issue will be solved.

Another point is not only making law implement it will required lot of effects to do it . For example , governments should encourage kids in school by doing activites , for adults they should run public campaigns which guide how to recycle your waste and its importance. Another example, in many emerging nations like Finland and Sweden , they give rewards to citizens in exchange of recycling . We may opt this method too for us.

In conclusion, i believe public awarness is very important of every society . We should take this issues serious and make ourself to ecofriendly nations by doing recycling of products as much as we can to save our beautiful planet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that governments should introduce laws to increase recycling, and you give relevant reasons, including fines and public education. The response addresses the question and includes examples, such as school activities and campaigns for adults. However, some points are less fully explained than others. The claim that people collect piles of waste instead of recycling is unclear, and the reference to Finland and Sweden is not accurately connected to the idea of rewards. Explain how a legal requirement would work in practice and why it would change household behaviour, then develop one example in more detail. The length requirement is met; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally group related ideas, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Another point” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph shifts from enforcement to education and then to rewards without explaining how these approaches relate to the central argument about laws. The example beginning “For instance” is also difficult to follow, so the link between it and the claim about recycling is weakened. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each example and its main point; vary linking devices and make references such as “this method” more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “legal framework,” “heavy fines,” “public campaigns” and “eco-friendly,” which makes your main subject clear. However, the range and control are limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “challanges,” “multipal,” “wastage” and “public awarness.” Some combinations are also unnatural: “amount of recycling process” and “piles by piles” do not express the intended ideas clearly. Choose precise collocations, for example, “the amount of household waste recycled” and “accumulating piles of rubbish.” Proofread spelling carefully and avoid repeating general words such as “stuff” when a specific term like “recyclable materials” is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which is caused by…” and a conditional structure in “If governments should take strict action…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some sentence structures and grammatical forms are inaccurate. For example, “because majority of don't recycle” is incomplete and lacks a clear subject, while “If governments should take strict action” uses an unsuitable conditional form. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “some people argues” and “one the main reasons.” Improve control by writing complete clauses, checking subject–verb agreement, and using standard conditionals such as “If governments take strict action, the issue may be solved.” Punctuation and capitalisation also need more consistent attention.
