Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the table, such as the dates of opening and the passenger numbers. However, there are significant inaccuracies in the data reporting. For example, you state Tokyo has a capacity of '1900 million' when the table shows 1927 million, and you incorrectly describe the cities as 'British'. Furthermore, the overview is vague and contains factual errors, such as claiming London was the most popular, when Tokyo actually has significantly higher passenger numbers. The task requires accurate reporting of data, and these misinterpretations hinder the overall achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'After that in 1927' and 'Focusing on the remaining data'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between sentences is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing. While the paragraphing is present, the internal flow of ideas is not always smooth, and the transition between the introduction, body, and overview could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'inaugration' (spelling), 'sitting position' (unnatural collocation), and 'below than 30' (incorrect grammar). The phrase 'the underground part of its' is confusing and does not make sense in this context. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use precise terminology to describe the data, such as 'routes' instead of 'kilometers of route'. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to data description.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'other cities has been introduced' (subject-verb agreement), 'London had commenced the very first inaugration' (tense usage), and 'below than 30' (comparative structure). There is a limited range of complex structures, and the attempts at them are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. The high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band.
