IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individuals consider that the most important way to become rich is helping others in form of giving things and doing financial support if is possible. Giving hand is better than taking hand. According to Islam, it is sadqa for all muslims who help others in any form, it increases their money and they become more rich. how much is given to others, they get more than from this.
In my opinion i agree to this point, because when Allah has make us rich and givinng hand we can spend on others as much we can, no doubt it makes us more rich and be comfortable. when we support others we get comfort from Allah Almighty.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 116 words. This significant under-length prevents the development of a full argument, leading to a superficial treatment of the prompt. While the writer expresses a clear position, the ideas are limited and lack the necessary extension and supporting evidence required for a higher band. The response addresses the topic but does not provide a balanced or detailed discussion, resulting in a fragmented argument that stops well short of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into two short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the general statement and the personal opinion is abrupt. Cohesive devices are largely absent or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'when' to start sentences. The lack of a clear introduction and conclusion makes the overall structure feel incomplete. While the reader can follow the basic intent, the lack of cohesive links between sentences makes the writing feel disjointed and mechanical.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'giving hand' and 'get more than from this' are non-standard and lack the precision expected in an academic essay. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or an attempt to use sophisticated vocabulary. The word choice is often imprecise, such as 'become more rich' instead of 'increase their wealth'. To improve, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary and focus on accurate collocations and formal academic register.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Allah has make us rich' (incorrect verb form), 'givinng hand' (spelling and article usage), and 'if is possible' (missing subject). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization of proper nouns and sentence beginnings. The high frequency of errors throughout the text indicates a need for significant improvement in basic grammatical control.
