IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Today, many people argue about the best way to help others in society. Some people believe that having a lot of this opinion because non-monetary things like time and skills are also very important.
On the onaving money helps people in many big ways. Charities and oo buy food, clothes, and medicine for poor people. For example, rich individuals can donate large amounts of money to build schools and hospitals. Without money, it is difficult to fix major problems like hunger or disease. Therefore, money gives a powerful chance to support big projects.
On the other hand, I think that money is not the only way to help. People can use their free time and personal skills to support others. For instance, volunteers cands who cannot go to school, or they can help oocal communities. Furthermore, professionals like doctors can give free cheups to ese actions do not need money, but they make people very happy and solve daily problems.
In conclusion, although money is useful for large charities, I do not believe it is the most important thing to help others. Giving time, effort, and skills is equally valuable. Anyone can help people around them, regardless of how much money they have in their pocket.hdsfajsdkfgakjhlsdafhoifg

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the role of money versus non-monetary contributions in helping others. You clearly state your position that money is not the only important factor. However, the response suffers significantly from a large amount of incoherent, nonsensical text at the end, which detracts from the overall development of your ideas. While the initial paragraphs are relevant and provide examples like charities and volunteering, the inclusion of random characters and strings of letters at the end of the essay means the task is not fully developed or concluded in a professional manner. To improve, ensure you focus entirely on the topic and proofread to remove any accidental or irrelevant text.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'For example', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the coherence is severely disrupted by the final section of the essay, which contains a series of meaningless characters and fragmented words. This makes the overall progression of the text incoherent toward the end. To achieve a higher band, ensure that your writing remains focused and that your paragraphing is consistent throughout the entire response without including irrelevant or nonsensical content.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with terms like 'non-monetary', 'charities', 'professionals', and 'communities'. However, there are several instances of incomplete words or typos, such as 'oo buy' and 'cands', which suggest a lack of careful editing. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure that all words are spelled correctly. The inclusion of random letter strings at the end of the essay also negatively impacts the lexical quality of the submission.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Although money is useful for large charities, I do not believe it is the most important thing'. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'having a lot of this opinion' (which is unclear) and 'give free cheups'. Punctuation is generally acceptable in the main body, but the presence of the nonsensical text at the end makes it impossible to assess the grammatical accuracy of the conclusion properly. Focus on proofreading your work to eliminate minor errors and ensure that your sentence structures are consistently clear and grammatically sound.
