Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position on the importance of helping others when wealthy. However, the response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the argument. The ideas are somewhat repetitive, focusing primarily on donating food or money to organizations without exploring other facets of the topic, such as the responsibility of wealth or the impact of philanthropy. The development is basic, and the conclusion is very brief. To improve, you should expand your arguments with specific examples or hypothetical scenarios to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and often mechanical. For example, the transition 'ACCORDING TO MY VIEW' is used somewhat awkwardly, and the connection between sentences is often abrupt. There is a lack of varied linking words to guide the reader through your arguments. To improve, try using a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas more fluidly. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence to improve the overall logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'BILLOINS', 'THIER', 'OPPNION', 'OPPORTINITY', and 'REQIRTMNET'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple words like 'money', 'rich', and 'people' throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations. Focusing on accurate spelling and using synonyms to avoid repetition will significantly improve your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'each people have'), incorrect word order, and missing articles (e.g., 'to poor guy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper capitalization or containing unnecessary spaces. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
