Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 91 words. This failure to meet the minimum length requirement severely limits the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and incomplete, with the final sentence trailing off mid-word. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, structured argument with sufficient supporting evidence and examples for each point. The current response is too brief to address the prompt adequately, resulting in a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization by using transition words like 'One of the major reason' and 'Another significant answer'. However, the progression is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of content makes it difficult to assess the overall flow of ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical nature of the cohesive devices used does not compensate for the lack of substance. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your arguments more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'being wealthy' are used multiple times, and there are errors in word choice, such as 'advantaging' instead of 'advantage'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You rely on basic sentence structures and simple word choices. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic of wealth and social responsibility, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors throughout the short text, such as 'One of the major reason' (should be 'reasons') and 'due fact that' (missing 'to the'). The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity expected in an academic essay. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequent errors and the incomplete final sentence indicate a lack of control over complex grammatical structures. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and practice writing more complex, error-free sentences.
