Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 207 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and under-developed. While the position is clear, the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and specific examples. The points regarding charity and funding hospitals are relevant but are presented in a fragmented manner without deep analysis. To improve, you must expand on your arguments by providing more detailed explanations and logical consequences for your claims. The under-length penalty is applied here as the task instructions were not fully followed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', but they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Hence, agree point'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is disjointed. The conclusion is particularly weak, as it merely restates the existence of points rather than summarizing the argument effectively. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother narrative flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'supporting to ward my view' and 'there is no paradox that they should invest'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'unanimously' at the start of the essay, which does not fit the context. Spelling errors like 'achive' and 'thier' also detract from the quality of the writing. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and collocations, and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but these are often grammatically incorrect. There are frequent errors in sentence construction, such as 'I firmly have a belief that being rich and helping other's and support them to achive thier goals', which is a sentence fragment. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. Subject-verb agreement and pluralization errors (e.g., 'other's', 'needy person') are common. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common grammatical slips before attempting more complex, error-prone constructions.
