IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
To helping other's is one the greatest benifit of wealth, but not necessarily the most important one. I partially agree with this statement.
To begin with, one of the major benifical of being wealthy to help people who need. Rich people have a ability to help poor and disadvantage people. They can support then financially and indirectly mentally by giving them support. Apart of this, rich individuals can donate in charities and they can do social works such as build schools for free study for poor people and bulid hospitals for provide healthcare service, also create jobs for unemployment people, for example, anant ambani is extremely rich and kind person, they can help disadvantages people and his mother adopt orphna childs. Helping others can give a wealth greater purpose than simply buying luxury items.
Howerver, helping others is not the necessarily the most important benifit of being rich. Having financially wealthy also gives the personal security and better education. With money rich people study in best schools and provide better education than others and money also gives personal security, for instance, while traveling they can use their personal vehicle and also for security they use personal bodyguards. Moreover, having wealth it not means every rich people use their money for charities and social works. Most for rich people use their money for comfortable life instead for spending on other
People.
In conclusion, although being rich provides people with a valuable opportunity to help those in need, I believe that financial security, personal freedom and a comfortable life are equally important benefits of wealth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of wealth in helping others versus personal benefits. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention examples like Anant Ambani, the connection to the broader argument is slightly underdeveloped. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the reasoning could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, balancing the altruistic potential of wealth with the practical benefits of financial security.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Apart of this', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Apart of this' (should be 'Apart from this') and 'Howerver' (spelling error). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural, cohesive narrative.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors ('benifit', 'benifical', 'bulid', 'orphna', 'childs') and word-choice issues ('unemployment people' instead of 'unemployed people', 'indirectly mentally' is unclear). You rely on basic descriptors like 'rich' and 'good'. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring correct word forms. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequent errors in spelling and word formation prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'To helping other's is one the greatest benifit' (incorrect verb form and article usage), 'have a ability' (missing article), and 'having wealth it not means' (incorrect syntax). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is usually clear, the density of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Increasing the accuracy of your sentence construction is essential.
