IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many people think that being rich is one of the most important factor because that rich person has the chance to another person. I am totally agree with this and i will state why am i agree with this in this essay.
In this world there are both rich and poor people live together on the same earth. Both rich and poor people can help to each other in any kind of work or any aspect of their life. In this world a person who is rich should always help to the needy one because a penny which is given to needy always help that person on any kind of work. I do also think that a person who have anything to give a needy should give that thing to that person. A rich person has a good life than a poor person and he has a chance to help those poor people, giving something to poor might doesn't affect to his or her income.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. The essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the second paragraph. While a position is stated, the arguments are repetitive and lack the depth required for an academic task. The ideas are under-developed, and the response does not adequately explore the extent of the agreement. Because the essay is unfinished and lacks sufficient length, it does not address all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. There is no logical progression of ideas, and the paragraphing is insufficient. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'On the other some are disagree'. The lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending make the text difficult to follow. The relationship between sentences is often unclear, and the overall organization is fragmented.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'rich and poor people' and 'kind of work' are used repeatedly, showing a limited range. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'one of the most important factor' (should be plural) and 'I am totally agree' (should be 'I totally agree'). The lexical range is inadequate for an academic essay, and the lack of variety prevents the expression of more complex ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'a person who have anything' and 'giving something to poor might doesn't affect'. Sentence structures are simple and often contain errors in basic syntax. Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of grammatical errors and the lack of complex structures limit the score significantly.
