IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that the main benifit of being rich is the ability to help others. I definitely agree with this view although helping others is important, being rich is a great opportunity to help the poor or needy people.
I absolutely agree with this because everyone's have a dream for being a rich person. Rich people having all the resources, having healthy wealth so they easily gives the grocery to the poor or needy people.
For this kindness to the poor Allah will be happy form u and gave u more success due to the kindness u did for the poor or needy people. You also gives the jobs to the people who are needy. You did many type of opportunities to help out to the poor.
I never be disagree because having this kind of opportunity is the most greatful that Allah is more precious to u that u are selected to avail this opportunity. If you were gave more and more to the poor people in return Allah will twice your income.Always thanks to Allah for their kindness and greatness.
On the other hand ,some thinks being a rich person just focus on your own house and career, don't help to the poor or needy people. just make your own house more advance or modern and take care of it but they don't want to heling out people.
In my point of view i don't like the people who are more rich but not want to give the food to the people who have not eaten the food since tomorrow.I always helps to the needy or poor people and that type of thing make my heart and myself satisfied too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of the idea that wealth provides an opportunity to help others. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments rely heavily on personal opinion and religious references rather than exploring the broader societal or economic implications of wealth and philanthropy. The essay lacks a balanced exploration of the 'extent' of the agreement, and the counter-argument provided in the penultimate paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks depth. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or logical reasoning to support your claims rather than repeating the same points about helping the poor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. Transitions between sentences are often missing or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'the poor or needy people'. The use of cohesive devices is limited, and the connection between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion is not clearly established. The structure feels disjointed, and the referencing (e.g., 'that type of thing') is vague, which hinders the flow of the argument. Improving the use of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'however' would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases such as 'needy or poor people' and 'help out' are used frequently throughout the text. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'benifit' instead of 'benefit' and 'greatful' instead of 'grateful'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and there is a lack of awareness of collocation and style. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider variety of synonyms and more precise academic vocabulary to describe the concepts of wealth, philanthropy, and social responsibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone's have', 'some thinks'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'If you were gave'), and sentence structure. The range of grammatical structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. Complex sentences are attempted but are often inaccurate. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing and capitalization issues. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb forms, and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be the most effective way to improve your score in this area.
