Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the altruistic and personal benefits of wealth. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the position is clear and maintained throughout, the arguments regarding personal benefits are somewhat brief. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed examples or deeper analysis to ensure the word count is met and the ideas are fully explored. The conclusion provides a good summary, but the overall development is limited by the length constraint.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'firstly', 'furthermore', 'however', and 'in conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some issues with punctuation and capitalization, such as 'firstly' starting with a lowercase letter and inconsistent spacing before commas. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the mechanical errors in punctuation occasionally disrupt the flow of the text. Improving the consistency of your paragraphing and punctuation will help achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'underprivileged', 'affluent', and 'financial prosperity'. However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'nak' instead of 'make', 'meaning full' instead of 'meaningful', 'disadvantages' instead of 'disadvantaged', 'grater' instead of 'greater', and 'well begin' instead of 'well-being'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and ensuring that word forms (e.g., adjectives vs. nouns) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'wealthy individuals are a strong position' (missing preposition 'in'), 'their contributes' (incorrect word form), and 'wealthy is most worthwhile' (incorrect part of speech). Punctuation errors, such as missing or misplaced commas and inconsistent capitalization, are also present. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will be beneficial.
