IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argue that the biggest benefit of being wealthy is being able to help others. I strongly agree with this viewpoint, as I believe that rich individuals can use their financial resources to support poor people and improve their quality of life make it a highly beneficial development of individual and society. This following essay will elaborate on the reasons behind my opinion.
The principal reason why I support this view is that wealthy people can use their money to support people who are struggling. Such as, they provide food, clothes and shelter. For example, a wealthy person can pay for the medical treatment of a poor child who cannot afford expensive healthcare. Moreover, only money cannot give a happiness, but helping others can give wealthy people a sense of purpose and satisfaction.
Another compelling reason for my agreement is wealthy people can invest their money in education and public facilities. For instance, A rich businessmen can establish a school in rural area and provide free education to children from low-income families. Additionally, rich people use their financial resources to others rather than investing all their money on luxury.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly support the view that to opportunity to helping others or poor people is the most important. This is because it not only improve poor people lifestyle but it is also helpful for their future. For these reasons, I am convinced that adopting this approach would have far-reaching benefits and lead to a more prosperous and sustainable future.
