To commence with, wealthy people have more opportunities to assist needy people of society. They can donate money to charities, support to poor families and comtribute to educational and medical projects. for example, wealthy people can provide scholarships to students who cannot aford higher education. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by presenting a clear position that aligns with the topic, though the stance shifts slightly from complete agreement in the introduction to a more nuanced 'partly agree' conclusion. Ideas regarding helping others and personal financial security are presented, but some arguments are under-developed and repetitive. For instance, the second paragraph mentions helping society and giving scholarships, but the points remain somewhat general. The response covers the main requirements of the task, meeting the core prompt effectively despite the slight inconsistency between the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is arranged into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. Transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences can be disjointed. For example, the transition into personal benefits in the third paragraph feels abrupt after discussing philanthropy. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the overall cohesive framework remains at a modest level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'philanthropy' implied through 'donate money to charities', and 'financial security'. However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'comforable' for comfortable, 'livng' for living, 'alloes' for allows, 'aford' for afford, 'finacial' for financial, and 'engenier' for engineer. These errors do not heavily impede communication because the context is generally clear, but they highlight limitations in lexical accuracy and spelling control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses such as 'students who cannot aford higher education'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with numerous frequent errors including subject-verb agreement issues like 'wealthy people can donate money in hospitals that can provide', missing articles, incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing such as 'wealthy people can make doctor and engenier to their childrens'. These frequent errors in grammar and punctuation can cause occasional difficulty for the reader.
