Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the potential of rich people to help others and the counter-argument regarding their potential arrogance or self-absorption. A clear position is presented in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas tends to be slightly repetitive and lacks depth, particularly in the body paragraphs where examples like "parties, clubs etc" are quite general and underdeveloped. Phrases like "rich people is also having an attitude on their face" reflect a tendency to over-generalise rather than fully extend the arguments with sophisticated supporting details. Consequently, the response aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as "Firstly", "Secondly", and "On the other hand" are used to sequence ideas, although some cohesive devices are mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is occasionally faulty, such as in the phrase "rich people is also having an attitude on their face and they barely talk well", where pronouns and connectors create slight disjointedness. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and the overall progression is discernible, making the text coherent overall, which corresponds closely to a Band 6 level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as "overall growth", "malnutrition", and "government authorities". However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including spelling and formulation mistakes like "indivuals" instead of individuals, "vital thing" instead of things, and "scolding and shouted them unnecessarily". These errors occasionally cause strain, but they do not completely impede communication. Because the vocabulary range is sufficient yet constrained by repetitive phrasing and inaccuracies, a Band 5.0 score is most appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and auxiliary verbs, such as "rich people is also having", "they are having lots of resources", and "rich people should have to take initative". Punctuation is also problematic in places, notably with run-on sentences and comma splices like "help other,But at the same time,I partially disagree". While the meaning can still be understood, the high frequency of structural and mechanical errors places this response firmly at Band 5.0.
