Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether helping others is the most important aspect of being rich. The candidate takes a clear position in the introduction ('I strongly agree with this nation') and provides supporting arguments, such as philanthropic foundations and vocational training programs. However, the body paragraphs contain a sudden and confusing contradiction where the writer states 'To some extent i disgaree with this point of view' and introduces arguments about tax loopholes and unethical businesses, which blurs the overall stance. Furthermore, some ideas are underdeveloped and the conclusion drifts into talking about scammers and writing checks rather than summarizing the main arguments. Consequently, the task response falls into the Band 5.0 to 5.5 range, as the position becomes unclear and parts of the argument are contradictory or inadequately supported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is significantly hindered by abrupt shifts in perspective, such as introducing a disagreement out of nowhere in the middle of the third paragraph. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or incorrectly, evident in phrases like 'In the period of inflation' and 'Explaining some of another supporting points'. Referencing is also weak, with ambiguous pronouns ('it dedicates its resources') and poor paragraphing mechanics, as the conclusion contains multiple disconnected ideas in a single block. Paragraphing is not used effectively to control the flow of ideas. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 category for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'futher paragrapghs' instead of further paragraphs, 'conculsion' for conclusion, 'needy or others people', 'built careers', and 'proverty'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'high-net-worth individual', 'philanthropists', and 'humanitarian organizations', but their control is shaky, often leading to awkward collocations or incorrect forms ('democratically relected governments'). While the range is minimally adequate to convey basic concepts related to wealth and charity, the frequency of lexical errors and spelling mistakes restricts the score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('being rich person'), subject-verb agreement errors ('if a high-net-worth individual have money'), punctuation errors, and capitalization slips. For instance, sentences like 'To cite an Example,Edhi foundation running largest volunteer ambulance fleet in the world' lack finite verbs and proper punctuation. Additionally, run-on sentences and fragments occur, such as 'so, My Suggestion, When you have a lot of money ,helping often turns into...'. The frequency of these structural and grammatical errors causes noticeable difficulty for the reader, aligning with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
