IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowdays helping other has become hotly debated topic in our society. Some people believe that main aim of well wealth people is help to other but i agree that main aim of wealthy people to start more business and give opportunity to work in their factory. In this essay i will exaime those view before giving own opinion. I completely disagree about this point of view.
Some people believe that aim of rich people is help to poor people. This is evident from the fact that poor people live their life as an simple individual. Various study have show that in this way poor children get education and build their future. For instance in Wazirabad a charity home give free education and necessary of life to poor children. Another reason why the people hold this believe because in this way people meat their necessary and crime rate controled such as shop robbary and mudered.
In my opinion, For the help of people rich people shuld build new factory and give employment their and asked hin to work their and earn for the necessary of life, For example GFC factory give oppurtunity to poor people work their and gain income for their children. Additionaly, well wealth people spend their money for build of new intitutaes foe learning skill, in this way poor people learn skill and live independent life as like govt build institutes for poor people.
In big cities like Gujrat and Lahore many rich people open school for learning skill.
In conclusion, I disagree for giving money to poor people, Rich people also build indistries and institutes for helping the poor people as giving jobs or traning that made him independent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the most important thing about being rich is helping others, presenting a distinct position that wealthy people should instead focus on creating businesses and employment. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While the writer attempts to support their position with examples such as charity homes and factories like GFC, some arguments lack full clarity and tend to over-generalise. The position is maintained throughout the essay, meeting the criteria for a Band 5.0 or 6.0, but the underdeveloped nature of some points places it firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion, which gives it an overall structural arrangement. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices, such as 'Nowdays', 'In this essay i will exaime those view', and repetitive transitions like 'For example' and 'In this way'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks smooth logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun use like 'asked hin to work their'. These features align with the descriptors for Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical and word choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'well wealth people', 'exaime those view', 'shop robbary and mudered', and 'intitutaes foe learning skill'. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary, inaccuracies in collocation and spelling (e.g., 'Nowdays', 'additionaly', 'indistries') limit the range to a minimally adequate level, reflecting the standard for a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors. Complex structures attempted by the student are generally faulty, such as in the sentence 'Another reason why the people hold this believe because in this way people meat their necessary and crime rate controled'. Punctuation and capitalization are frequently neglected, and frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and prepositions cause regular difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance securely at Band 4.5 to 5.0.
