Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed by some people that very important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. I partially agree with this statement. This essay will discuss and explain why i not completely agree or disagree in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. There were a lot of people who are able to help others in various ways such as by giving them some money to poor people to fulfill their needs and provide them food and clothes, moreover accomodation is the main need of individuals therefore some rich provide them homes. Secondly, many businessmens do social activities to become more popular among individuals it is also the part of business. Furthermore, some rich people provide a lot of opportunities for poor people by paying them for work what they did for rich people, i think it is very good way to help poor people because with the help of this they become motivated for earning.
On the other hand, there are a lot of rich individuals who do not want to help others even they have a lot of money. Because thinking of that individuals is that they did a lot of hardwork and sacrificed many things so why they help others, In addition some rich people done the things which provide them happiness and comfort they only think about themself ruther than others.
In conclusion, a lot of socialist people help poor people by providing them needy things and opportunities. However, many selfish people do not want to help others by they only think about themselves only.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether helping others is the most important aspect of wealth, presenting a partially agreed position. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on how wealthy individuals provide food, clothes, and accommodation, or how business owners engage in social activities, touches upon relevant points, but these arguments lack depth, specific examples, or extended explanation. Furthermore, the phrasing in the introduction regarding why the writer 'not completely agree or disagree' indicates a position that is not always fully clear or sustained throughout the text. Note that 33 words copied directly from the task prompt were excluded from the official word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to divide the response into appropriate paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. For example, the transition phrases such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but referencing and logical links within sentences are occasionally faulty, as seen in the phrase 'Because thinking of that individuals is that...'. Paragraphing is present and helps separate the contrasting viewpoints, yet internal cohesion requires smoother transitions to achieve a fully logical flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'accommodation', 'socialist people', and 'businessmens', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word form and spelling. There are instances of awkward word choice and collocation, such as 'provide them needy things' and 'doing social activities', which occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. While communication is generally maintained, the lexical range lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands, and spelling issues like 'accomodation', 'businessmens', and 'ruther' reflect a lack of control over more advanced terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving article usage, subject-verb agreement, prepositions, and clause structures, such as 'very important thing', 'why i not completely agree', and 'some rich people done the things'. Additionally, sentence boundaries are mishandled in places, leading to run-on structures like '...part of business. Furthermore, some rich people provide...'. These errors require the reader to occasionally pause or re-read, impacting the overall clarity of the grammatical delivery.
