IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individuals state that the absolute essential aspect about being affluent is that one has the chances to support others. In this context, I completely agree with being rich who provides the unique capacity and resources to address large scale social problems and genuinely uplift others.
In my opinion, rich is not who has more net worth but that who support others. Because humanity would be the first priority in our life. Socialism is not the solution about being happy nor it will make wealthy if you have resources than you must help others that the only reason behind your success and make you worthy. For instances, Mr Beast is the most famous man on social media and he has 520 million followers on youtube and the main reason he has that kind of following, he support others. He build approximately 5000 houses for needy people.
Another example is that a rich individual has assets to build hospitals. A common man and weak government do not have funds to make a medical community but a wealthy man has power to do that.
Pakistan's most famous man, Imran khan did it in past. He build a cancer hospital in Karachi, Pakistan without any reserves. Now the only cancer hospital in Pakistan is Shaukat khanum hospital that came by the hard work of Imran khan.
A wealthy man would also build a living society for poor people. In small towns, where government did not do anything for their public, a rich man would do. I'll explain in this example, in california, a famous actor donate his all property to the housing society which build houses for needy people.
In conclusion, I completely agree with that rich is one that has the opportunity to support others because he has reserves to make people happy by helping them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that wealth matters because it enables people to help others. The examples of MrBeast, Imran Khan and a housing donation are relevant, and the hospital example shows a distinct way wealth can benefit society. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that helping others is “the only reason behind your success” is broad and does not clearly explain why this is the most important aspect of being rich. The final example is also vague because the actor and the impact of the donation are not identified. Develop each example with a clearer link to the question and acknowledge, if appropriate, other benefits of wealth before explaining why helping others is paramount.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs presenting examples, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. The paragraph beginning “In my opinion” moves from defining wealth to socialism and then to MrBeast without a smooth explanation of how these points relate. Linking phrases such as “Another example” and “In conclusion” help signal stages, but the repeated example-based pattern can feel mechanical. Some references are also unclear, particularly “he” in the final example, where the actor has not been named. Organise each body paragraph around one reason, then explain and connect its example directly to that reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “affluent,” “net worth,” “resources,” “social problems,” “assets” and “uplift others.” These choices show an effort to discuss wealth and social contribution beyond very basic terms. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “absolute essential aspect,” “has the chances to support others,” “medical community” and “without any reserves.” Repetition of “rich,” “help” and “others” also limits precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your central argument, but they make parts of the response less fluent and exact. Build collocations as complete phrases—for example, “the opportunity to support others”—and choose specific terms such as “healthcare facilities” when describing what a wealthy person could fund.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a rich individual has assets to build hospitals” and a conditional structure in “where government did not do anything for their public, a rich man would do.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some errors in sentence construction and verb forms make the argument harder to follow. For example, “In my opinion, rich is not who has more net worth but that who support others” has an incomplete and ungrammatical comparison, while “he support others” and “He build” show subject–verb and tense errors. Several sentences also run ideas together, especially the sentence beginning “Socialism is not the solution.” Practise complete clauses, consistent past tense for examples, and accurate agreement; then check punctuation where one sentence contains several claims.
