Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. I disagee with this statement. I think that there is no boundery in having an opportunity to help others. Further more I will explain my ressons to support my opinion.

Helping the one in need does'nt require you to be rich to help others. Helping others does'nt only mean to help them financially, but it comes with different aspects. Helping others can involve different types of support. Lets just say someone is in need of pysical assistance due to his/her age or any injury or something. Some others may need help in studies as many students lacks the understanding of some topics. Some sportsmen can need help in the form of training as many games need alot of training such as cricket, football, and wrestling etc. Others may also need help financially as in today's world the economy is thriving and many suffer financially.

One always have the opportunity to help other and as a nation we should always help each other to succed in life. Helping others has a positve influence on other people as well. As when they will saw a person in need, they will definetly remember the good deed which was done to them by someone.

In conclusion, now I can say confidently that I have explained enough resons, facts, and examples that support my opinion. It is surely not neccessarily important to be rich and have an opportunity to help others. We should Always help each other and advice the same to our yougerone's.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You state a clear disagreement in the introduction and maintain it in the conclusion. Your central point—that helping is not limited to financial support—is relevant, and the examples of physical assistance, study support and sports training illustrate this. However, the discussion mainly lists possible forms of help rather than explaining why being rich is not the most important aspect of wealth or developing the broader claim about helping others. The conclusion also repeats your position instead of drawing together the argument. The response is 249 words, one word below the 250-word minimum; the 19 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop one or two examples more fully and explain how they support your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion, and the examples are grouped around the idea that help can take different forms. However, progression within the body is mostly a sequence of examples, rather than a connected argument. Linking phrases such as “Further more,” “Lets just say,” and “As when” are either awkward or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph repeats the claim without summarising the main reasons. To improve, organise the body around a clear point, explain it, and then connect each example to that point. Use referencing and transitions accurately so the reader can follow how each sentence advances the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “financially,” “physical assistance,” “training,” and “positive influence.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main idea, but the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated uses of “help” and “others.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “disagee,” “boundery,” “ressons,” “succed,” and “neccessarily,” which reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some phrases, including “the economy is thriving” in a sentence about people suffering financially, do not express the intended relationship clearly. Build a wider set of precise terms for forms of support and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, agreement, verb forms and punctuation. For example, “One always have” should be “One always has,” while “many students lacks” should be “many students lack.” In “when they will saw,” the verb form is incorrect; use “when they see.” The sentence beginning “Helping others doesn’t only mean…” also needs clearer parallel structure. Apostrophes and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “does'nt” and the comma splice in “As when they will saw…”. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add complex clauses with controlled verb forms and punctuation.
