Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the topic by arguing that wealthy people can use their resources to support disadvantaged families and students, and it gives examples such as funding volunteer work and paying tuition. However, your position on the exact question—whether helping others is the most important aspect of being rich—is not consistently clear. The opening focuses on whether wealthy people choose to help, while the conclusion shifts to the hardship of people living in slums without directly weighing the importance of helping against other benefits of wealth. Several points, including the criticism of luxury purchases, are asserted more than explained. State your degree of agreement clearly and develop each main reason with a direct link to the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a recognisable structure, with an opening, supporting paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, and transitions such as “First,” “On the other hand,” and “However” signal changes in direction. Nevertheless, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the opening introduces several ideas at once, and the relationship between the criticism of luxury spending and the claim about helping others is not always made explicit. The conclusion introduces slums and rice without clearly summarising the argument. Some linking phrases are also awkward or repetitive, and references such as “they” and “you” shift the reader’s perspective. Organise the essay around a clear position, use one main point per paragraph, and make each transition show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “considerable wealth,” “disadvantaged people,” “inheritance,” and “lifetime savings,” which helps convey the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “money,” “people,” and “help,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. For example, “giving capitalize to volunteer work” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “paying scholar’s tuition for goods” is difficult to interpret. “For flexing” is also informal for an academic essay. Choose precise phrases such as “donate to charitable organisations,” “fund volunteer programmes,” and “pay students’ tuition fees.” Check word forms and collocations so that your ideas are expressed naturally and accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay attempts some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “This would not only improve the lives of disadvantaged people but also create many opportunities for their future.” However, the range is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “wealthy people tend to spend her or his money,” “people who have considerable wealth willing,” and “There is many countries.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the final paragraph and in the example beginning “Such as Buying.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence structures, articles and plural forms. Building longer sentences from correctly controlled clauses will improve clarity as well as range.
