IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The world is full of people with different views and perspective. For being rich and poor few people has various judgment about this matter. So now i am going to give my own perspective of this matter.
In the saying of being rich is that opportunity to help others and i am intend to agree with this view. First reason the humanity. Being rich make some people only self selfish or kind of show off things they like to do. It only make you a human being if you help others with reference type of opportunity. Lots of money can use for the needy also for the people who are struggling with their life with unemployment. Then it can say the perfection of being rich with a blessed human being and make the opportunity to support others.
If i say of one reason for disagree with this matter i would say the selfishness or arrogant side of richness. For what i said earlier in the topic that some people like to show off the things which even they do not care after. And do not understand the value of needy people so few likes to bother them with that power of storage.
However it could be change if people can be humble and learn from the socialization or from family. Because a child always like to learn from what they watch. So every parents and neighborhood should aware of this than the views and behaviors of some rich people would change.
In conclusion, i clearly state my both side of perspective of being rich to help other people in that one opportunity also if nit it could be change by the nature of socialization.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general position in favour of helping others, stating, “i am intend to agree,” and you also acknowledge a counterpoint about selfishness among some wealthy people. These points are relevant to the question. However, the response only partially develops the central claim: it does not explain why helping others is the most important benefit of wealth compared with other possible benefits, and examples remain broad, such as helping “the needy” or people facing unemployment. The discussion of parents and neighbourhoods changing rich people’s behaviour is related but not clearly connected to the main argument. Develop two reasons with specific explanation or examples, and make your degree of agreement explicit in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraph, counterpoint, further comment and conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader identify these stages, and transitions such as “However” and “In conclusion” signal changes in direction. Nevertheless, the overall progression is not always clear: the paragraph about socialisation shifts from wealthy people’s choices to how children learn, without showing the link to the argument. Several connections are also vague, including “Then it can say the perfection of being rich” and the final reference to “that one opportunity.” Some linking phrases are repeated or used mechanically. Organise each paragraph around one clear point and use explicit references to show how each idea supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “unemployment,” “selfishness,” “arrogant,” and “socialization,” and you try to express abstract ideas about wealth and responsibility. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the perfection of being rich,” “power of storage,” and “with reference type of opportunity” do not communicate the intended ideas clearly. Repetition of “rich,” “people,” and “opportunity” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases, such as “financial resources,” “support disadvantaged communities,” and “a sense of social responsibility,” and check that each phrase fits its context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “it could be change if people can be humble,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur frequently, as in “few people has,” “Being rich make,” and “it could be change.” Sentence construction is also faulty in places: “In the saying of being rich is that opportunity…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “Lots of money can use for the needy” omits the passive form needed to express the idea. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly the repeated lowercase “i.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and conditionals while checking verb forms and sentence boundaries.
