IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, it is a widely discussed topic that should rich make opportunities to help others or not. Some people say , if you are rich ,its important for you to make oppotunities for other that help them.I agree with this view because if you are rich its your moral and ethical responsibilty to make opportunites that might help other. and thats how circle of economy works.
The primary reason for my possition is that if you are rich then it is your responsibilty to make opportunity to help other people. If you earn more than your needs its your responsiblity to help poor and needy people so they can overcome from the situation of poverty or needyness. For example if you earn in millions then you should hire a cook , driver , guard or anyone for your ease and it might help someone who is strugling finantialy. As a result , more people get employent which leads to low crime rates and poverty among country. therefore, That it is important for you to mae opportunities if you are rich.
Another reason for that if you earn more and able to take a potion to donate then it might help you to do good deeds and may cause a chance of forgiveness of your sins in front of GOD.f For example , some people are poor and are not able to survive but they dont express to anyone . if you you help them it will help them to resolve their finantial needs. consequently, poors and white clads recieve help from you.this show that it is important for you to mae opportunities if you are rich.
in conclusion i agree with the statement that it is important for you to make opportunities if you are rich to help others.this is mainly because it might help people to be enployed and might help you to earn more prospect.therefore , rich people should help others via opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that wealthy people should help others by creating opportunities, and you give relevant reasons involving employment, poverty and charitable support. The examples of hiring a cook, driver or guard and donating to people in need help connect your argument to the question. However, the response focuses mainly on why helping others is a responsibility, rather than examining whether this is the most important aspect of being rich. The point about forgiveness of sins is also introduced briefly and is not developed as fully as the employment argument. To strengthen the response, address the wording “the most important thing” directly and explain why this benefit outweighs other possible advantages of wealth, while extending each example with clearer explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Each body paragraph presents a reason and attempts to support it with an example, so the overall arrangement is coherent. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: both body paragraphs end with a similar claim about the importance of creating opportunities, and connectors such as “As a result,” “therefore” and “consequently” are not always used smoothly. Some references are unclear, particularly “this show” and “this is mainly because it might help people,” where the reader must infer what “this” refers to. Use topic sentences that distinguish the two reasons, vary the way you link cause and effect, and make pronoun references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “moral and ethical responsibility,” “poverty,” “donate” and “employment,” and these choices make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “make opportunities,” “overcome from the situation,” and “earn more prospect.” Spelling errors—including “responsibilty,” “strugling” and “finantialy”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Some wording is also imprecise: “white clads” does not clearly communicate the intended group, and “circle of economy” is not a natural expression. Build a more accurate set of collocations for discussing wealth, employment and charitable support, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including conditional structures such as “if you earn more than your needs” and cause-and-effect clauses such as “which leads to low crime rates.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the central meaning is generally recoverable. However, some sentence forms are faulty or incomplete. For example, “In recent years, it is a widely discussed topic that should rich make opportunities” has an unclear clause structure, while “therefore, That it is important…” is not a complete sentence. There are also errors in articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “this show” and the inconsistent capitalisation after full stops. Practise forming clear complex sentences and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb, correct agreement and appropriate punctuation.
