Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a relevant position—“I mostly agree”—and keep the response focused on how wealthy people may help others, mentioning charities, jobs, and support for poorer people. However, these points are mostly listed rather than explained, and some claims, such as wealthy people entering politics to provide justice, are unclear. The response does not develop a reasoned answer to how helping others compares with other benefits of wealth. It is also substantially under the required length: it contains 98 words, 152 short of the 250-word minimum, and 19 words copied from the prompt were excluded. To strengthen the response, explain two or three relevant examples and briefly consider why helping others is, or is not, the most important benefit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response has a discernible central focus: it gives reasons why rich people can assist others. Repeated references to “Rich people” also make the topic of each statement apparent. However, the ideas are presented as a sequence of claims without clear paragraphing or a developed progression from the opinion to supporting reasons and a conclusion. The link between points is often difficult to follow, as in the move from establishing businesses to entering politics and “helps to tex released.” Some repetition also makes the response feel list-like. Organise the answer into an introduction, one or two body paragraphs grouped by reason, and a conclusion; use clear links such as “For example” and “As a result” to show how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “companies,” “government economy growth,” “justice,” “charities,” and “foundation.” These choices show an effort to discuss employment, public life, and charitable support rather than relying only on very general language. However, the range is repetitive, especially the frequent use of “Rich people,” “help,” and “people,” and several spelling and word-choice errors make meaning difficult to recover. Phrases such as “founded is orgenisation to cherity” and “paths and helped to passing people” are unclear. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and use them in complete, specific examples—for instance, describe funding a charity or creating employment—rather than repeating broad claims.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response mainly uses short statements, with an occasional attempt to connect ideas, but it shows little variety in sentence structures. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction frequently make the intended meaning hard to follow. For example, “rich are helps to others” does not form a correct subject–verb pattern, while “He make polices” has an agreement problem and an unclear sentence structure. Several statements are also joined without clear punctuation, making the sequence harder to read. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with “because,” “which,” or “so.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and that verbs agree with their subjects.
