IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some say that the most important thing about being rich is that one has the opportunity to help others. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that one of the most essential thing to be a rich is that one has the chances to help others. From my perspective, I am not agree with this view. Opportunity to help others is not about to be rich, many of individuals are having stable normal level of live and they are still helping other. Many of rich people are not supported or help others financially. In this essay I will try to support my view with my knowledge and examples from my life.
On the one hand, some middle level of people they help others with general help like give clothes and distribute food for poor people, it is not meaning that they are rich. Many this people they live normal like most of the others people, however they have opportunities to help poor people. For example, nurse or doctors could check and give recommendations for people who do not have enough money to visit hospital or clinic. This is not mean that they are so rich.
On the other hand, many of rich individuals might provide financials to community's who support poor people, but they do not do that, and this not mean that they are poor also. For example, rich big families instead throw clothes they can give to charity's companies, so they will be shared by size and gander with the people who need them.
In conclusion, the most important thing about being rich is have opportunity to help others. Many of people help others when without money or opportunity to do it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a relevant disagreement and give examples of ordinary people helping through donations and healthcare, so the response addresses the topic. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says you disagree, while the conclusion says the most important thing about being rich is having the opportunity to help others, which appears to support the statement. The ideas are also limited and under-developed. For instance, the example of nurses and doctors could explain more clearly how their help relates to wealth, and the point about rich families donating clothes is not fully connected to your argument. Make your position explicit and consistent, then explain how each example proves it. (Eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation. However, there is no clear overall progression because the two body paragraphs do not build a consistent argument, and the conclusion conflicts with the opening position. Connections between claims and examples are sometimes unclear; for example, the discussion of rich families donating clothes does not clearly explain why opportunity to help is not the most important aspect of wealth. Linking phrases are also repetitive and occasionally awkward. To improve, plan a sequence of reasons that all support one position, and use clear references and transitions to show how each example develops the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “charity,” “community,” “financial,” and “poor people.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “the chances to help,” “stable normal level of live,” “provide financials,” and “charity’s companies.” Some expressions are repeated, particularly “help others” and “rich,” rather than being varied with precise alternatives. Aim to learn common collocations and check word forms: for example, use “opportunity to help,” “a modest standard of living,” “financial support,” and “charitable organisations.” More precise vocabulary would make your examples clearer and your argument more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “however” and a conditional example beginning “if they do not do that.” Nevertheless, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “one of the most essential thing” needs a plural noun, while “I am not agree” uses an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence “Many of this people they live normal” also has problems with determiner, pronoun use, and clause structure. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and verb patterns.
