Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features and provided relevant comparisons across the five cities. You covered all three categories (cafe, fresh coffee, instant coffee) and highlighted key differences. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring the data points are consistently accurate and clearly linked. For instance, your description of the 'fresh coffee' trends is slightly confusing in its phrasing. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more precise and that you avoid vague descriptors like 'quite low' or 'quite lower', opting instead for specific data-driven observations. Overall, you have provided a solid summary that addresses the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group the data by category. You use cohesive devices such as 'Beginning with', 'However', and 'Additionally' to guide the reader. While the paragraphing is appropriate, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the progression of ideas flows more naturally between sentences. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be tightened to improve the overall flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'depicts', 'prominent category', and 'registered'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'considerably opposite' and 'represented consumers with just 33%', which sound slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations related to data reporting. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, incorporating a wider range of less common lexical items related to trends and statistics would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'resident's' (should be plural 'residents'') and 'percentage of people who bought fresh coffee were' (subject-verb agreement error: 'percentage' is singular). Additionally, the phrase 'quite lower' is grammatically incorrect; 'significantly lower' would be better. Despite these errors, your meaning is always clear, and the mistakes do not impede communication. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and comparative structures will help you achieve a higher band.
