Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to clearly distinguish between the three categories (bought fresh coffee, bought instant coffee, and went to a cafe). The overview is vague, stating 'most rapid and significant increased', which is not supported by the static nature of the chart. Furthermore, the data points provided are often inaccurate or confusingly phrased, such as the claim that 'Melbourne have the highest percentage' without specific supporting figures. To improve, you must clearly identify the key trends and provide accurate data comparisons for each of the five cities rather than making generalized, unsupported statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The introduction is poorly phrased, and the body paragraphs are not logically organized. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices; the use of 'While' at the start of sentences is repetitive and does not always create a logical connection between ideas. Paragraphing is absent, which makes the text difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: one for the overview and two for detailed comparisons, using a wider variety of linking words like 'in contrast', 'similarly', or 'whereas' to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and contains several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'servey' (survey), 'Austrailian' (Australian), 'peoples' (people), and 'ourchasing' (purchasing). The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'liked for coffee' and 'rate of citicen to went a cafe'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the data precisely. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to data description, such as 'a significant proportion', 'the highest percentage', or 'a downward trend', and ensure you proofread for basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('The city Melbourne have', 'Adelaide have lower rate') and verb forms ('to went a cafe'). Sentence structures are mostly simple and often contain errors that impede clarity. There is a lack of complex sentence structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions. Practice constructing complex sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to show a greater range of grammatical control.
