Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to clearly identify the main features or make meaningful comparisons. The description of the data is often inaccurate or confusing, such as stating 'the amount of drink fresh coffee was low than others' without clarifying the units or the specific categories. The overview is vague and does not provide a clear summary of the trends across the five cities. Furthermore, the information is presented in a fragmented way, making it difficult for the reader to understand the actual findings of the survey. To improve, you should focus on selecting key data points (the highest and lowest figures) and grouping them logically rather than listing them city by city.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. While there are paragraphs, the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused, such as 'in start' or 'in went to a cafe category'. Referencing is unclear, and the transition between sentences is abrupt. The text relies on repetitive sentence structures, which hinders the flow of information. To improve, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Similarly', 'Regarding') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as one for coffee habits and one for cafe visits.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is very basic and often inaccurate. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'amount of drink fresh coffee' instead of 'percentage of people who bought fresh coffee' and 'stand at same rate' instead of 'showed the same percentage'. The spelling is also inconsistent, with errors like 'ILUSTRATE', 'CITES', and 'Percnetage'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends or data accurately. You need to learn specific collocations for describing charts, such as 'a significant proportion', 'a steady increase', or 'the lowest figure recorded'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is weak, with frequent errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the people like to go in Cafe', 'the Percnetage... are increased'), incorrect preposition usage, and missing articles. The sentence structures are repetitive and lack complexity; most sentences are simple or contain basic errors in clause construction. Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent capitalization and misuse of semicolons. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you use the correct tense when describing data.
