The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar graph illustrates the survey results comparing people's coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities spanning last 4 weeks.

Overall, people's habits of buying fresh coffee, buying instant coffee and visiting a cafe for coffee or tea have been compared in this bar graph. It can be analyzed that people prefer going to the cafe the most and buying fresh coffee the least.

Over 60% of the people of Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart went to the cafe for coffee or tea. A little lower than that, more than 45% of people in these three cities bought instant cafe. At the bottom stood the percentage of people who bought fresh coffee with over 40%.

People in Brisbane bought more instant cafe and visited the cafe more than the people in Adelaide with a difference of over 5%. People who bought fresh coffee were almost same reaching 35%, with Adelaide being slightly ahead.
