The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The bar chart illustrates the comparison of five different cities of Australia in coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in last 4 weeks in terms of fresh and instant coffee and also how many went to a cafe for coffee or tea.

Overall, people of all cities, have a largest proportion who went to a cafe for coffee or tea in previous 4 weeks. While fresh coffee remains least priority among 5 cities. However demand for instant coffee shows almost stable figure.

With regards to the consumption and bought ratio of fresh coffee, Sydney had the highest figure of 44% which gradually fell in remaining cities with lowest in Brisbane and Adelaide holding only 34%. By contrast, people showed a good interest in buying instant coffee, recording peak in Hobart and Brisbane with percentage of almost 54% compared with Melbourne and Adelaine covered round about 50%. While Sydney records the lowest figure of 45%.
