Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the five cities and the three categories of beverage consumption. However, the presentation of data is largely a list of figures, which lacks analytical depth. While you have selected the main features, the report reads more like a data dump than a summary. To improve, you should group the data by trends (e.g., cities with the highest/lowest consumption) rather than listing each city individually. The overview in the final paragraph is a good attempt at synthesis, but it contains a factual error by referring to the cities as 'countries'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into three paragraphs, which is appropriate for this task. However, the progression of ideas is mechanical. You rely heavily on repetitive sentence structures ('In [City], [Beverage] was [Verb]...'), which makes the text feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are limited; for example, you use 'Furthermore' and 'In comparison', but the internal flow between sentences within paragraphs is weak. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the detailed data and the concluding summary could be smoother to improve the overall logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety. You frequently repeat words like 'consumed', 'coffee', and 'approximately'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'cofee' (repeated multiple times) and 'instant cofee'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to basic descriptors. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more varied synonyms for 'consumption' (e.g., 'intake', 'usage') and avoid repetitive phrasing. The misuse of 'countries' instead of 'cities' also indicates a lack of precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For instance, 'instant coffee consumption was around at 41%' is grammatically awkward, as is 'fresh cofee was consumed at approximately 43% in last four weeks'. The omission of articles ('in last four weeks') and the inconsistent use of prepositions ('around at') are noticeable. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to detract from the clarity of the report. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would be beneficial.
