Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of the survey across the five cities. You successfully highlight the trends for cafe visits and the comparison between instant and fresh coffee. However, the overview is slightly weak; while it attempts to summarize, it lacks a clear, high-level synthesis of the data. Some data points are described, but the comparison between cities could be more analytical rather than just listing percentages. To reach a higher band, ensure that the 'main features' are clearly contrasted in the introduction or overview to provide a more professional summary of the trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, the transition between the cafe data and the coffee type data is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'demand', 'survey', and 'habits'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'preffer to bought' (should be 'preferred to buy') and 'differance' (spelling error). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the data. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that verb forms following 'to' are in the base form. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated descriptors for trends, such as 'fluctuated' or 'remained stable', would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'demand... are slightly high' (should be 'is') and 'people like to bought' (should be 'like to buy'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on consistent tense usage—especially since you are describing past survey results—and correcting basic subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
