The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart illustrates the percentage of residents in five Australian cities who bought fresh coffee, bought instant coffee, or visited a café for coffee or tea over a four-week period.

Overall, going to a café was the most popular habit in every city, while buying fresh coffee was consistently the least common. Hobart and Melbourne recorded the highest café attendance, at approximately 63-64%, whereas Adelaide and Brisbane were somewhat lower, both around 50-56%.

In terms of fresh coffee purchases, Sydney had the highest proportion at just under 45%, closely followed by Melbourne at around 43%. By contrast, Brisbane and Adelaide showed the lowest figures, with only about 34-35% of residents buying fresh coffee, roughly ten percentage points behind Sydney.
