The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar gaph compares the outcome of the survey about the drinking habits of people such as buying fresh coffee, instant coffee and purchasing tea or coffee from a café in the last four weeks in the five cities of Australia.
Overall, it shows clearly that dropping by to a cafe for coffee or tea is the most popular habit of individuals living in Australian cities, and buying instant coffee is the second popular. In contrast, purchasing fresh coffee was the least popular.
Most Australians preferred to go to a cafe for coffee rather than buy it fresh. The data shows that Melbourne had the highest percentage of it followed by Hobart, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide from 61% to 64% respectively. Meanwhile, purchasing a fresh coffee had the lowest proportion among the cities. It only ranged from 34% to 44%.
Second to the most favorite habits of Australian was buying an instant coffee. Hobart had the most rate of individuals doing it. This stood at 54%, whereas Sydney had 41% in the last 4 weeks.
