The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the results of a survey on the coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart on a monthly basis.

Overall, in all five cities except Adelaide, the highest proportion of residents visited a café for tea or coffee. However in Adelaide, most people bought instant coffee.Furthermore, although with a lot of fluctuations in figures, the percentage of people that bought fresh coffee had the lowest figure in every town.

To begin with, in Sydney, a little under 45% purchased fresh coffee. Around 45% of residents had gotten instant coffee while the percentage of people who visited a café to get their tea or coffee has the highest figure of a little over 60%. Similarly in Melbourne, about 43% of individuals bought fresh coffee, a little under 50% purchased instant coffee. The largest proportion of people got their coffee or tea from a café accounting for a little under 65% of all coffee and tea drinkers in this city.

Likewise, just under 35% of coffee drinkers in Brisbane purchased fresh coffee. About 52% and 55.5% respectively got instant coffee and went to a café to get their tea or coffee. Furthemore, in Hobart, a little under 40% bought fresh coffee, about 54% got instant coffee and over 60% visited a café to purchase tea or coffee.

By contrast, in Adelaide, a little under 35% purchased freshly made coffee, 50% had instant coffee and about 49% visited a café for tea or coffee.
