The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart illustrate the percentage of city residents in five Australian cities- Sidney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart- who bough fresh coffee, bought instant coffee and went to a cafe in last four weeks.
Overall, visiting the cafe was the most popular habit in all the cities. Bough fresh coffee in last four weeks are the least common activity in all locations.
In detail, going to the cafe was highest in Hobart at nearly 68%, closely followed by Melbourne and Sydney at around 63% and 61% respectively. Brisbane had about 55% of residents visiting cafes. while Adelaide recorded the lowest population across all.
Instant coffee was most favored in Hobart 54% and Brisbane 53%.In Adelaide the percentage of people buying instant coffee was identical to those going to a cafe, both standing at 50%. Sydney and Melbourne recorded slightly lower figures, around 45% and 48%.
Finally buying fresh coffee saw the lowest figures overall. Sydney and Melbourne recorded the highest Interest for this category at roughly 44%.
