The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar graph illustrates the information about the outcomes of a research about the public's coffee and tea purchasing and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

At the fleeting glance, the residents of Melbourne were more likely to visit the cafe for coffee or tea in past 4 weeks, almost 65%. Moreover, approximately 62% of public in Hobart visit cafe for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks. However, the lowest figure of graph is people of Brisbane, only 35% of individuals bought fresh coffee in last 4 weeks.

Moving ahead, in Adelaide, the percentage of those who bought instant coffee in last 4 weeks and individuals who went to a cafe for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks was same approximately 50%. Followed by, near about 46% of residents of Sydney bought instant coffee in last 4 weeks and about 62% of individuals visit cafe, which makes the difference of almost 18%.

Overall, residents of every city more likely to visit the cafe rather than buying fresh coffee, that's why the proportion of fresh was low.
