The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bargraph illustrates the results of a survey regarding purchasing of tea and coffee and drinking habits of residents across five major cities in Australia ( Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart).
In Sydney, around 44% people bought fresh coffee in last 4 weeks, which was slightly higher than the 43% in Melbourne. Moreover, the proportions were lower in Brisbane and Adelaide with nearly 35% respectively. Meanwhile, Hobart showed a higher percentage as compared to both. Furthermore, around 45% reseidents were interested to buy instant coffee and the consumption was higher in Melbourne and Brisbane with 48.5% and 53% respectively. However, the percentage was lower as in Alelaide as compared to Hobart with 50% and 54%.
In Sydney and Melbourne more than 60% residents were interested to go to cafe for tea or coffee in last 4 weeks. but the percentage was lower in Brisbane (55) and Adelaide (50) as compared to both. Moreover, In Hobart the percentage was almost same as Melbourne in last four weeks.
Overall, going to a cafe for coffee or tea was the most popular choice in four out of five cities in Australia. However, purchasing of fresh coffee was the least popular choice except in Sydney and Melbourne.
