The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the buying and drinking habits of people consuming coffee and tea in Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart.

Overall, it can be seen that visting the cafes for coffee or tea was the most popular activity across all cities, while buying instant coffee recorded to be at second place and people taking fresh coffee made up the lowest proportion.

Looking at the percentage of the people buying fresh coffee last month, it was highest in Sydney and Melbourne at approximately 44%, whereas lower in Brisbane and Adelaide at almost 35%. Hobart made up 38% of people consuming fresh coffee.

In terms of people visiting cafes, the figure was highest in Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart, comprising roughly 60-64% of customers. Brisbane and Aldelaide, by contrast, recorded 55% and 50%, respectively.

Compared with, the proportions of people buying instant coffee were higher in Hobart and lower in Sydney, while Mebourne and Adelaide showed roughly equal proportions of people.
