The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The column graph illustrates the results of a survey on coffee and tea consumption habits among

residents in five Australian towns, focusing on three activities: buying fresh coffee, purchasing

instant coffee, and visiting cafés.

Overall, going to cafés was the most popular choice in all cities except Adelaide, while buying

fresh coffee was the least preferred. In addition, instant coffee purchases were generally more

common than fresh coffee purchases across the cities.

Fresh coffee purchases were comparatively lower in all cities. Sydney and Melbourne had similar

figures, at around 44% and 42% respectively. Hobart stood at approximately 39%, while Brisbane

and Adelaide constituted the lowest percentages, both at about 34%. In terms of instant coffee,Hobart ranked highest with about 55%, closely followed by Brisbane with around 53%. Adelaide

and Melbourne had moderate figures of roughly 50% and 48% respectively, while Sydney

accounted for the lowest proportion with 45%.

By contrast, looking at café visits, Melbourne and Hobart recorded the highest proportions, both

at around 64%, closely followed by Sydney at just over 60%. Brisbane and Adelaide registered

slightly lower figures, at approximately 55% and 50% respectively
