The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the outcome of a survey about the habit of drinking and buying coffee and tea in five different cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart) in Australia over the four-week period.

Overall, it is clear that going to cafe for coffee and tea was the highest share across all location. In contrast, purchasing fresh coffee consistency recorded the lowest numbers overall. Meanwhile, the figures for buying instant coffee stayed firmly at the middle position.

In terms of the most popular options, going to the cafe registered the highest figures, peaking at just over 60% in Melbourne and remaining about 55% elsewhere, except for Adelaide where it was lower at under 50%. Similarly buying instant coffee showed a strong presence, with its largest share observed in Hobart at 54%, while hovering between 45% and 53% in the remaining cities.

Looking at the less prominent choices, purchasing fresh coffee recorded the lowest proportions across the board. The proportion for this group is highest in Sydney at 44%, but dropped to a minimum of around 34% in Brisbane and Adelaide. Overall, this specific group stayed well below 45% in every single city analysed.
