The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar illustrate research findings for coffe and tea purchases and drinking habits among five cities in Australia over four weeks.

Overall, those who went to a cafe for coffee or tea represented the highest percentages followed by the instant coffee category, whereas people who purchased fresh coffee constituted the lowest figures.

Looking at the category of the people who went to cafe for coffee or tea, the data for Melbourne and Horbat were almost same, accounting for approximately 63%. This was follwed by Sydney and Brisbane just over 60% and a little over 55% respectively. The figure for Adelaide comprised just under 50%, which was the lowestfigure in this category.

Regarding the fresh coffe purshases, Syndey, Melbourne, and Hobart numbered around 43%, just over 40%, and approximately 37% respectively. The data for both Adelide and Brisbane were similar, consisting of just under 35%. For instant coffee group, Hobart indicated the higest figure at nearly 55%, followed by Brisbane and Adelaide at around 53% and 50% respectively. Sydeny resident consumed less instant coffee accounting for around 45%.
