The chart compares people's buying coffee and tea and drinking habits in five cities of Australia in last four weeks.

Number of data includes people that bought freesh coffee, instant coffee and they went somewhere else like cafes for drinking.

We can see all the citizens from four cities choose going cafe for coffee except Adelaide where instant coffee bought and drinking coffee in restaurants are quite equal. While least is the fresh coffee bought in all cities with Sydney leading while Brisbane has less. Purchasing instant coffee has also been prioritised after going out where leads and we can see Sydney in last .

We can cleary see that people like to drink coffee going outside like cafes, restaurants, etc in these five cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, coming in at only 125 words, which places a ceiling on the task achievement score. While the student attempts to summarise the main features of the chart, the coverage is somewhat superficial and disorganised. Some comparisons are made, such as noting that going to a café is the most popular activity overall, but the details are confused. For instance, the statement that Adelaide has equal rates of instant coffee purchasing and restaurant drinking is inaccurate based on the visual data. The overview is weak, and key data points are either omitted or misreported, leading to a partial and somewhat confused treatment of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The essay lacks a clear logical progression and proper paragraphing. The introduction is extremely brief, and the body paragraphs consist of disjointed sentences that jump between categories without a coherent structure. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the dangling transition 'While least is the fresh coffee bought...' and 'where leads and we can see Sydney in last'. Pronoun referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow which city or coffee habit is being referred to. Overall organisation is faulty and mechanical, hindering the flow of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'buying', 'drinking', 'people', and 'cities'. There are noticeable awkward word choices and unnatural collocations, such as 'buying coffee and tea and drinking habits', 'choose going cafe', and 'drinking coffee in restaurants' (when the chart refers to cafes). Some attempts at less common vocabulary are marred by errors in form, such as 'freesh coffee'. Spelling and word choice errors occur with some frequency, though they generally do not completely obscure the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting mostly of simple and flawed complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing prepositions ('choose going cafe'), incorrect verb forms ('where instant coffee bought'), and poor sentence formulation ('Number of data includes people that bought freesh coffee...'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are poorly managed, resulting in run-on clauses and awkward phrasing that frequently cause difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication.
