The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart present results of a survey about tea buying and drinkings habits of australians from five different cities in Australia.

Overall, the number of people buying instant coffee, and the traffic of visitors visiting a cafe for coffee or tea shows higher peaks then individuals buying fresh coffee in the last 4 weeks.

Firstly, the percentage of australians buying fresh coffee remained lower then 45% across all five cities, with Sydney having the highest figure of approximately 44% and Brisbane and Adelaide recording only around 34% of the total city residents. However, the interest from the residents in buying instant coffee show different figures with Hobart recording highest percentage of around 54% followed by Brisbane with a percenatge of above 53% and Sydney recording the lowest figure of slightly above 45%.

On the other hand, the percentage of visitors who visit the cafe for coffee or tea has the highest percenatge among the three categories. The highest figure is recorded in Melbourne city residents with a percentage of almost 63%, followed by Hobart with above 60% and Sydney with near 62% and the lowest is recorded in Adelaide with around 50% of the residents visiting any cafe in the last four weeks.
