Student answer (Band 5.0)
The detail of the Australian cities about people's buying coffee, tea and drinking habits in last 4 weeksare given below:
As this the chart tells us about the Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Adelaide and Hobart.
Firstly i would like to tell about the Sydney, there are 43-44% people that bought fresh coffee, 45% people bought instant coffee and 61% people want to the cafe for taking it.As alot of people went to the coffee shop there could be many reasons of it -like fir chilling out, envoirnment change, fot get to gather, hangout or maybe to do some business or work related online chores i.e. presentation, meeting etc.
Secondly, I talk about Melbourne, there are 42% people that bought fresh coffee,47.5% people that bought instant coffee and 64% people went to the coffe shop.
Thirdly, there is Brisbane city ,very less people for about 34% bought fresh coffee as compared to the people who bought an instant coffee(52%)and went to the cafe for tea and coffee(55%) .
Fourth is Adelaide, in this city 34% people bought a fresh coffe and almost equal amount of people bought an instant coffee(50%) and people (49%)went to the cafe for coffee/tea(,people who bought an instant coffee has 1% higher ratio than the people who sat there and enjoyed their coffee/tea.
Lastly, i talk about the city Hobart ,in this city higher percentage of people for about 62% went to the coffee shops but the people who bought an instant coffee has less ratio for about 54% and lesser ratio people than all were those who bought fresh coffee which is 38%.
Analysing the graph of all these cities, i have concluded that almost from every city huge percentage of people went to the cafes and coffee shop not just take away it.And it's better in many aways like when you go out you meet different kind of people, learn from experiences of other people and from your own observations. Also when you socialize your mental health get better you feel better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You report all five cities and include figures for each of the three categories, so the reader can identify the broad pattern: café visits are generally high, while fresh-coffee purchases are lower. However, the response only partly fulfils the summarising task because the overview is vague and some space is devoted to speculation and personal opinion. For example, the reasons people might visit cafés and the benefits of socialising are not shown by the chart. A few figures are also inaccurate: Melbourne café visits are about 63.5%, not 64% (a small difference), but instant coffee is about 48.5%, not 47.5%; Hobart café visits are about 63%, not 62%. Focus on the main comparisons, including the highest and lowest results, and avoid unsupported explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence, moving through the cities with signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Lastly,” and it ends with a concluding paragraph. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, the city-by-city listing makes comparisons between categories and cities difficult to see, and the final paragraph shifts from chart summary to personal commentary. Some linking is mechanical, while long sentences—particularly the Adelaide section—combine several figures and comments without clear boundaries. Organise the report around an overview followed by grouped comparisons, such as café visits versus coffee purchases, and use shorter sentences with clear punctuation. This would create a more consistent progression and make the relationships between the data easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “bought fresh coffee,” “instant coffee,” “percentage,” and “went to the café,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or informal, such as “people want to the cafe,” “less ratio,” and “huge percentage.” There are also spelling errors, including “coffe,” “envoirnment,” and “get to gather,” which reduce precision. Phrases such as “sat there and enjoyed their coffee” add an unsupported interpretation rather than describing the chart. Build a more precise range for reporting data—for example, “accounted for,” “stood at,” and “the proportion of residents”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the repeated city-by-city structure helps convey the basic information. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “The detail … are given below,” “As this the chart tells us,” and “people who bought an instant coffee has less ratio,” where agreement, sentence construction, and article use are faulty. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, especially around commas and parentheses, and several sentences run on as multiple ideas are joined with dashes or conjunctions. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add controlled comparisons using forms such as “whereas” and “compared with.” Proofread for subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
