Student answer (Band 5.0)

This chart display the survey result about buying and drinking, coffee and tea in five popular city in Australian; also known as Sydeny, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide at the end Hobart.

Furthermore, mostly people wants to drink coffee or tea at cafe's in all these cities. instant coffee remains at avarage at this chart and fresh coffee could be brought at low in all these 4 weeks.

Moreover, at Sydney people love to drank coffee and tea at cafe around 62%, but brought frersh and instant coffee little bit remain same arount 46%. At Melboure people love to drank coffee at cafe as its take highest around 64% but fresh and instant coffee purchase drop their around at 48% to 38%. At Brisbane and Adelaide fresh coffee perchase remain same at both, but instant and drunk coffee or tea are little bit higher at Brisbane. At Hobart people love to drank coffee at cafe as well instant coffee purchase are higher than the others but at last fresh coffee purchase also drop their.

From my point of view, people love to drank at cafe as well but instant coffee purchase remain at avarege and at the end people didn't love fresh like others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s subject and make a relevant general observation that café visits are popular, then compare several cities. However, the overview is not sufficiently accurate or clear: café visits are the highest category in four cities, but not Adelaide, where instant coffee is slightly higher. The claim that fresh coffee is “low in all” cities is too broad, and the final opinion that people “didn't love fresh” is not an objective summary of the data. Some comparisons are also inaccurate or vague: in Sydney, fresh and instant purchases are about 44% and 45.5%, not both around 46%; in Melbourne, fresh coffee is about 42.5%, not 38%. Select the main patterns accurately and support them with clearer comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, broad comments, city-by-city details, and a concluding statement. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited because the overview and details are mixed together, and the final “From my point of view” repeats earlier claims rather than summarising the chart. Linking words such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “At the end” are used mechanically, and some references are unclear—for example, “they” in “fresh and instant coffee purchase drop their.” Group the information more purposefully, perhaps by comparing café visits with purchases, and use clear references and transitions to show how each comparison relates to the main pattern.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “survey,” “purchase,” “instant coffee,” and “cafe,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “remain at avarage,” “purchase drop their,” and “people love to drank” are not natural ways to describe chart data. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “Sydeny,” “frersh,” “Melboure,” and “perchase.” Use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “was higher than,” and “stood at approximately,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid subjective expressions such as “love” when reporting survey results.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including comparisons across cities, but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur repeatedly: “This chart display,” “people wants,” and “people love to drank.” Sentence construction is also faulty in phrases such as “fresh and instant coffee purchase drop their around at 48% to 38%,” which makes the comparison hard to interpret. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are not consistently controlled, and the semicolon in the opening sentence does not connect the ideas appropriately. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and comparison patterns, for example, “The proportion who visited a café was higher in Melbourne than in Adelaide.” Shorter, complete sentences would improve clarity while you build more complex structures.
