IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

These two diagrams illustrates the changes made in floor plan of library used by public.

First image shows the library over the last 20 years ago. They have entrance in the center and tables and chairs are organize in center of the library for sitting for the readers but in todays library they do not have any chairs and tables in center as they have proper separate storytelling room. Also at right side of entrance they have reception or enquiry desk from where people get their tickets and issue or return books. But now at the right of entrance they have cafe for the entertainment purpose. Now they make the enquiry desk in place of adult non-fiction books place, they make information desk and install self service machines for tickets and books returns. In 20 years old library they have reading room at left side of the entrance but now they have computer room. Front of this they make new space for reference for all books and demolish the space for adult fiction books.

In place of CDs, games room they make children fictions room. Also they make Lecture room in removal of children's books room.

In conclusion, the new central library is far different from old library as they have numerous changes.
