The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps compare the layout of a library open to the public in the recent time and 20 years ago.

Overall, almost sections of the library have changed their previous location, even though the library has remained its plus-sign hallway structure. The structure of rooms in the library differs in the south, while the northern rooms have remained their door-orientation, although the room size of the western room increased.

20 years ago, the library had 2 circles of tables and chairs right infront of the entrance. Today, this area remains empty. The entrance hall entailed both adult fiction and adult non-fiction books in the western and eastern hall, respectively. The fiction books moved to the eastern hall, as well as an information desk, which was previously in the open in the south-eastern corner 20 years ago, and self-service machines, while the western hall is now used for all reference books.

The room structure has changed significantly. Previosuly, the south-western door was facing the north wall of the library and the south-eastern hall entailed an open area. This has changed to both being closed now and their doors being directly available from the entrance. The northern rooms have not changed their layout, but the room on the left of the entrance increased in size by about 50 percent. The children's books were previously in the upper-right corner room of the library, now in the upper-left corner, with sofas and storytelling events.
