Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have attempted to describe the changes in the library, the report lacks an overview or a summary of the main trends, which is essential for Task 1. The description is fragmented and lacks a professional tone. Furthermore, the final sentence 'No relevancy present there' is confusing and does not contribute to the task. To improve, you must include an introductory sentence, a clear overview of the most significant changes, and ensure the response is long enough to fully cover all features of the diagram.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks logical organization and paragraphing. There is no clear progression of ideas; the text reads like a list of observations rather than a cohesive report. Cohesive devices are almost entirely absent, making the text difficult to follow. You should use linking words such as 'whereas', 'in contrast', 'previously', and 'currently' to connect your ideas and guide the reader through the comparison. Proper paragraphing is also essential to separate the description of the past from the present.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple prepositions and nouns. There is no attempt to use academic or descriptive language appropriate for a report. For example, instead of saying 'having newspaper', you should use more precise terms like 'housed' or 'contained'. The lack of variety in word choice limits the ability to describe the changes effectively. You need to expand your vocabulary to include terms related to spatial description and change, such as 'relocated', 'transformed', 'replaced', and 'converted'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammar is weak, with frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and article usage. Many sentences are run-on or incomplete, such as 'Then at the center of library tables chair and on both sides adults fiction and non fiction books available'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the frequent omission of verbs and articles makes the writing difficult to read. You should focus on writing complete, grammatically correct sentences and practice using a mix of simple and complex structures to improve clarity.
