The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The above diagram illustrates the difference in floor plan of a public library between 20 years ago and present time.

Overall, drastic changes can be seen with the addition of different structures, increase in room area, some rearrangements of furniture along with removal of certain areas over the two decades.

Looking first at the center of the central library the most significant change can be seen as the tables and chairs which took a large amount of space has been removed. Turning to the right side children's books has been replaced with a lecture room and the area right below has some changes with supplement of information desk along with self-service machines. Underneath the enquiry desk has been converted into a cafe with enhancement of room area.

Furthermore, the top left part of the library has been completely refurnished with increment of the overall area, children's fiction book and sofas which is now used for storytelling events. The adult fiction books area situated beneath has been changed into all reference books area with decrease in size. The reading room has been renovated into a computer room with different changes in the room's infrastructures.
