The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pair of maps illustrates how the floor plan of a public library has changed from a traditional library to an advanced library over a 20-year period from the past to the present.
Overall, the structural and functional floor plan of a library has been replaced by the use of advanced technology. The traditional and historical plan of a library has now been revamped.
On the bottom left corner of the library, reading room exists there, which housed plenty of newspapers and magazines. But, now it has been superseded with the computer room. Moving forward on the top left corner of the library, there was a room specified for entertainment purposes such as, for CDs, videos and computer games, which also has been displaced and storytelling room takes its place. Storytelling room organises events for childrens and it contains two sofas.
Major changes were also being done on the right side of the library. On the bottom right side of the library, there was an enquiry desk, the purpose of this desk is to handle tickets and book returns. Moreover, the top right corner of the library was occupied by childrens book, and that has also been replaced with a cafe.
